The SYZ custom rod end configurator lets you design a male thread rod end (Heim joint) to your exact requirements, in the browser, in 3D. Where the SYZ product finder covers standard catalog sizes, this configurator is built for everything else: bore diameters, ball and housing dimensions, shank lengths or thread combinations that fall outside standard specifications.
Set the ball bore (B DIA), ball diameter (BALL DIA), housing outside diameter (D DIA), ball/inner race width (W WIDTH), housing width (T WIDTH), shank length (AM LENGTH) and thread length (CM LENGTH). Choose UNF/UNS inch threads or metric threads with right- or left-hand direction, body materials from chromoly and alloy steels to stainless and 7075-T6 aluminum, surface treatments from hard chrome to anodizing, and the liner system — reinforced nylon with PTFE, PTFE fabric, or metal-to-metal. The parametric 3D model updates in real time and only allows engineering-valid dimension combinations.

Body materials include 4130/4140/4340/300M steels, 17-4PH and 316L stainless, and 7075-T6 aluminum, with compatible surface treatments (hard chrome, zinc, black oxide, nickel, passivation, anodizing). Ball materials: 52100 bearing steel, 440C and 17-4PH stainless. Liner systems: reinforced nylon + PTFE, PTFE fabric, or metal-to-metal.
